Wow! What a dignified look... bet she was a cool mother Keewon. This painting indicates your love and respect... of the woman. Much to ponder and admire here!
Kee, this is a beautiful tribute and shows your great love and respect for your mother. She somewhat reminds me of an angel and her look of dedication is translated into your work.
You have done a great job on this portrait and your love comes through the paint. Your mother looks quite angelic and her devotion to culture, ethics and tradition are also reflected in your work. She's a modern day Caravaggio--and therefore this is a very multi-cultural painting. Stand proud.
I have tried posting several times with no luck but I'll try again. I think this is a beautiful portrait and shows dignity, love and respect for your mom. She was a woman who appreciated good values, tradition, and spirit in her children. That is easy to see in her face. You have created a modern day Caravagio.
Bill, Ron, and Michele, So many thanks for your great comments and I will really treasure this one. My father passed away when I was 12 years old and she became the one that I looked up to and indeed she filled that responsible place with her hard work, dedication and dignity to raise five of us. I have four older sisters. Growing up among five women will make you respect them even more.
Michele... sorry about the comments been not posted right away. I have that moderation enabled so it want get posted right of way until I publish it. I will try to turn it off.
I like this so much had to post twice. You really take me to school on this. Looks like you employed the techniques and materials of the old masters. I'm so happy you left out the eights!
Kee, I left a comment on your "Larry Garland" portrait. It is amazing as is this lovely portrait of your mom. Not often do I actually go back and look at someone's whole archives but I did just that with yours. You have a rare and wonderful talent. Then I 'googled' you and went to see your work at Segil gallery . I will definitely link you on my webpage and blog. You rock!
