Great color scheme on this one Keewon. The subtle peach skin tones strengthened by the cooler greenish colors. Warm keyed painting with warm greens.. I see this as a painting about color. The figure for me sits at another level of appreciation. Kind of like Russian dolls. The structure of Sofia's pose readily accepts a warm comforting blush of color. Very feminine contrasted to some of the rougher setups at the workshop. Hoot... it's late!
Kee, you talented fellow you, stock up on the grub I'm comin' down for some lessons. We gotta do some blight work-any garbage dumps nearby? Yer showin some "grit" lately with the earthy tones and stylin strokes. Have you been hangin out with some bad boys lately perhaps large stinky guys with motorcycles? I'm diggin your scene man! (sorry that last bit was Milford)
Night owls unite... or at least paint. Keewon during the week I paint at night because that's my alloted time - between fiddling around the house being distracted I try to wedge in at least 3 hours. That would take me to about 2a.m. each night. Not a schedule for lazy.. but I tend to be lazy.. what a bitch!
Another great portrait. It is wonderful how you worked with the colored ground and left the painting sketchy. I like the application of paint, it is colorful and juicy. Not to forget mentioning the expression of the woman. Very well done. Do you mind me linking your blog?
Ron, Thank you. It's struggle at the work-shop every week and I will do my best to capture the feeling of that session and sometimes it works and other time fails fantasically too!
Bill, you are dedicated man. I totally know what it's like to be working and painting every night and I too, understand about distraction around the house and not getting to paint sometimes and that's a bitch!
Your paintings are beautiful. My good friend bought your Stonewall Jackson painting and my husband and I both love it. Will you be having another show soon?
Kee . . .as of this moment, I am joining your list of ardent admirers. I am at a complete loss for verbage to express my feelings when your radiant work comes on the screen. Simply astounding. Sure would like to see more!
Am adding your blog to my links, by the way. The world needs to know you!

Bill, Thanks. I remember having fun with this one especially, like you mentioned, with colors.
You are up late despite you have a work this morning.
Kee, these paintings are beautiful.

You do this model justice and your portraits are alive and inspiring. You know how to "nail" it!

Stefan, thanks for the nice comment. Jennifer's work-shop session is only time I can leave painting sketchy as study.
If you don't mind doing that thanks for linking my blog and I will do the same thing.
I like the variety of color on this one. Love to see you push this kind of color variation thing even more!
Kee...
you captured the etherealness of Sofia's flesh so beautifully!
I like her dreamy and distant expression.
Thank you William.
Hi Jennifer, thanks. Aren't you supposed to forget about this world and just enjoy the time in Chicago?
That's the beauty of laptops, Kee! Great to use during down time (and after a big Passover meal!)
I have very much enjoyed my time in Chicago.......returned today and I already miss being there!!

Kee,
We miss you!
Hope to see some new posts from you soon :)
I second Stefan.
I like the rich color in this. I like it is loose but still contains the right info.
Cheers... Andrew
